A few pics of Beryl and her one-year old cubs

Post by Nikon_nerd »

A few pictures of our favorite grizzly sow Beryl and her cubs from last year. We hadn't seen her in probably 4 or 5 years. We were losing hope we would see her on this trip, but on the last afternoon of our trip as we were heading back to our hotel we finally saw her and her cubs. It was a nice finish to another great trip to Yellowstone.
Pictures taken in early May 2024.

All comments welcome.

So glad you got to see her this year! We did not see her this spring, but you may recall we saw her last year half way up the mountain where she hangs out. Glad to see she and her cubs made it this spring. They look very healthy. Those are great pics and so pleased that you have shared them with us!!

Thanks Bill!
We spent two weeks in the park on our spring trip this year and every day we looked for Beryl and Obsidian and didn't find either one until the last day late in the afternoon. On our way to exit the park we drove through "Beryl's territory" once, and didn't see her. I wanted to leave the park, but my wife said we should check one more time, and so we did and there she was finally. Persistence pays off.
