Deadly Crash Near Yellowstone

On Thursday, May 1 a tour van and a pickup truck collided on Idaho Hwy 20 near Henrys Lake about 20 miles from Yellowstone killing 7 people and injuring 8 others. Both vehicles caught fire and other drivers stopped to help the injured.

Apparently, the tour van had international tourists on board, with at least one family from Italy it was reported. The accident is still under investigation, but it may have been a head-on collision with the vehicles traveling in opposite directions.
We travel that hwy fairly often and were driving that section just a couple of hours before the accident. We have seen several close calls with passing vehicles as drivers get confused by the 3 lanes of traffic, particularly when passing another vehicle. However, there was not much traffic when we came through. Terrible tragedy.
