WYDOT: Teton Pass still closed due to overnight mudslide
WILSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) alerted drivers at 3:36 a.m. on Friday, June 7, that a mudslide had blocked both lanes of travel on Teton Pass.
WYDOT officially closed the pass at 4:18 a.m. The mudslide occurred near mile marker 15, near the scale house.
“Crews have been working to clear the debris, but additional material continues to flow into the roadway,” WYDOT said in a statement at 7:38 a.m. “There is no estimated time of opening.”
WYDOT noted that its crew is taking the opportunity to evaluate the temporary patchwork at mile marker 12.8, an emergency measure implemented on Thursday, June 6, when a large crack in the road was discovered. The crack led to unsafe driving conditions and closed the pass for three hours.

WILSON, Wyo. — Teton Pass will be unusable for the foreseeable future. The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced on the morning of Saturday, June 8, that the roadway at milepost 12.8 had “catastrophically failed,” and that “a long-term closure is expected.”
The announcement came at 7:57 a.m., after WYDOT and Evans Construction crews had been working overnight to handle twin problems of a mudslide at milepost 15 and a growing crack in the road at milepost 12.8, both of which had caused closures of the road earlier this week.
Crews had been in the process of constructing a detour around the milepost 12.8 road damage, removing the guardrail and preparing to remove the pavement, WYDOT said, “but the landslide continued to move, taking out the whole road. No crews were hurt in the process, and no equipment was damaged.”
The mudslide at milepost 15 continues to be a problem for WYDOT, too. The agency said that mud and debris were still flowing across the roadway, unable to be wrangled by the emergency drainage ditch and culvert installed on Friday night.
“WYDOT is now reviewing a long term solution and repairs, and more information on planning efforts will be available soon,” WYDOT said in its Saturday morning update.

This is looking like it'll take months to repair.

I'd guess at least a year. They are going to have to do a long re-route.

WYDOT is claiming they'll have a temporary detour completed in two weeks. They're going downslope towards the trees. It'll be vehicle size and weight restricted but workers and tourists will be able to get through.

Ah, nice to hear. Do you know if that's been completed?
