Re: Mammoth Campground ?
Do you if Yankee Jim was or is damaged ? maybe uphill toward Jardine might be best bet if I could nab a spot, might be crowded at these spots if Mammoth doesn't open or opens late. The thought of driving one thousand miles and have to scramble for a spot is making me second guess this trip.

Re: Yellowstone Insight Tours saw a wolverine
Saw that in my news feed this morning, still can not figure out exactly where it was seen but since it was on a road open to traffic I have to assume it's the northern road, unless this was from a tracked vehicle. Re: Wolf Hazing
I read about this a few months ago in the Billings Gazette,it is in response to wolves getting too close to humans, following them, and getting to close to the road(stealing traffic cones) Here's the article with the NPS/NWS response from Doug Smith https://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/...

Man Attacked By Bear 05/28
A man was injured when he was attacked after running in to two bears that he believed were grizzlies. This happened on the Beaver Pond Trails on Friday. https://www.nps.gov/yell/learn/news/210528.htm This should be a reminder that a bear encounter can happen just about anywhere in the park,I always t...

Re: Hiking to Grand Prismatic
As a person with creaky joints(knees & hip) I remember it as not too bad,it seemed gradual with no steep inclines,I thought it did not get up to a high enough angle to get a really good pic and do not bother if it's cold as all you will see is steam that can obscure your view coming off the spring. ...

Mike's Trip April 28 to May 11
Entered the park from the west entrance on a bright and quite warm Wednesday afternoon.I did not see anything on the drive to Mammoth Campground but was struck with the lack of snow cover and the low water levels in the rivers.I was lucky to get the last available camp spot to the dismay of the othe...
