May 11--Day Four

Spent the entire morning looking for Snow and Jam with no luck, then found the grizzly sow Obsidian with three 2-year-olds across from Cascade Meadows. Got some bighorns at the East Entrance and then saw a grizzly sow with two 2-year-olds near the Gardiner entrance.

A big grizzly boar ran right out in front of my car in the Hayden at 5:30AM and made me stomp on the brakes. Saw another three grizzlies and I've stopped counting the black bears. Had one all to myself for an hour on the Slough Creek trail.

Rik, Glad to see the site is up and working again. Do you know what happened to shut it down and how it got going again? Anyway, what fantastic photos!!! Karen is very jealous of the martin.
